Our therapists work collaboratively with parents to provide individualized, evidence-based tools to fit the unique needs of children with autism, ADHD, anxiety, and other challenging behaviors.

Our team utilizes empirically-supported approaches including Parent Management Training (PMT) and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE).

OT for Parenting is dedicated to empowering parents with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate the complexities of parenting, while also prioritizing their own well-being. 

Our Parent OT services offer a collaborative approach that focuses on: 

  • Providing education on your child's diagnosis to better understand their unique strengths and challenges 

  • Gaining tools to enhance communication with your child to foster deeper connection and understanding 

  • Learning strategies to promote emotional regulation at home 

  • Discovering practical techniques to support your child’s planning, organization, and task management skills

  • Assisting the family in creating and maintaining healthy routines 

  • Creating sensory-friendly spaces at home 

  • Learning to support your child in developing essential life skills such as dressing, showering, or teeth brushing 

  • Facilitating smoother transitions, whether it’s moving between activities or adapting to new environments

  • Accessing supports to help you, as a parent, manage your energy and competing responsibilities

In addition to equipping parents with the knowledge and skills to support their children, our compassionate occupational therapists are dedicated to helping parents prioritize their own well-being, ensuring that parents can thrive alongside their child.
