Chiara Diona, PsyD | Postdoctoral Fellow

Dr. Chiara Diona is a Postdoctoral Fellow specializing in the treatment and assessment of children, adolescents, and young adults with anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, and neurodevelopmental disabilities. She earned her PsyD in School-Clinical Child Psychology from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology in New York City.

Dr. Diona completed her pre-doctoral internship at The Help Group, an APA-accredited site focused on serving neurodivergent youth, where she provided therapy and conducted psychological assessments. Prior to her internship, she completed practicum training across a range of specialized settings including Mount Sinai’s Child and Family Institute; JCCA, a foster care and child welfare agency; and the Churchill School, a school dedicated to students with language-based learning disabilities. Throughout her graduate training, Dr. Diona also worked as an Executive Functioning Coach at PALS (Pediatric Assessment, Learning and Support), delivering skills-based instruction to students with ADHD and ASD to strengthen executive functioning and academic skills.

Dr. Diona's clinical approach is warm, collaborative, and deeply relational, viewing the therapeutic relationship as a meaningful tool for growth and change. She draws on a range of evidence-based modalities including CBT, exposure-based treatments, and behavioral parent training. Dr. Diona is passionate about bringing caregivers into the room to address behavioral challenges and improve whole-family functioning. 

Originally from Los Angeles, Dr. Diona completed both her undergraduate studies and doctoral training in New York City before returning home to serve the community she grew up in. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.
